NUMAS Haus – NEW ULM, MN

 

NUMAS Haus is a homeless shelter in New Ulm,
MN that provides shelter and support services to homeless women and their
children primarily in the Brown County area. We are looking for an experienced
Executive Director to oversee all the operations, functions and activities of
NUMAS Haus. You will be the face of the organization, and along with the Board
of Directors, will be responsible for giving the proper strategic direction and
implementing a high quality vision.

An excellent executive director is an influential
manager with ability to lead and motivate. They have great communication skills
and take a holistic approach in managing the organization’s operations. The
goal is to manage and lead the organization towards the realization of its
mission. The Executive Director will also uphold and support the mission of
NUMAS Haus through behavior that is consistent with the highest moral, ethical,
and legal standards as outlined in the NASW Code of Ethics.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee,
    implement, and evaluate the day-to-day operations, policies, and
    procedures carried out by staff and volunteers.
  • Work
    with the Board of Directors to assure the organization has a long-range
    strategy which achieves it mission.
  • Ensure
    effective systems to track progress and measure success that can be
    effectively communicated to the board, funders, and other constituents.
  • Maintain
    records and documents, and ensure compliance with any federal, state, or
    local regulations.
  • Publicize
    the activities of the organization, it’s programs and goals, from web
    presence to public relations.
  • Establish
    sound working relationships and collaborate with community groups and
    organizations.
  • Recruit
    and train paid staff and volunteers.
  • Jointly,
    with the Board of Directors, develop and maintain sound financial
    practices, including expanding revenue through fundraising activities and
    grant writing.
  • Oversee
    donations and maintain the donor database.
  • Devise
    remedial actions for any identified issues and conduct crisis management
    when necessary.

Skills

  • Minimum
    of a Bachelor’s Degree, or other advanced degree, in management, business,
    administration, or social work required. (Licensed Social Worker
    Preferred)
  • Successful
    completion of a background check required.
  • At
    least 2 years of experience working in non-profits preferred.
  • Experience
    as an executive director or in other managerial position preferred.
  • Ability
    to work with compassion, integrity, and a positive attitude.
  • Demonstrate
    flexibility, respect, self-direction, and a participatory management style.
  • Ability
    to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people.
  • Experience
    in developing strategies and plans.
  • Ability
    to apply successful fundraising and networking techniques.
  • Strong
    understanding of finance and measures of performance.
  • An
    analytical mind capable for “out-of-the-box” thinking to solve problems.
  • Outstanding
    organization and leadership abilities.
  • Excellent
    communication (oral and written) and public speaking skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $55,000.00 – $60,000.00 per year
